Founder & CEO of Playcrafting
Dan Butchko is a lifelong gamer that is proud to have been able to bring his passion for empowering communities into his work as Founder and CEO of Playcrafting. At Playcrafting, he and his team work with independent developers nationwide to create custom games, produce exclusive events, and connect with the world’s biggest brands looking to harness the power of play. Since 2014, Playcrafting has hosted over 650 events and has generated more than $2.5 million for independent game developers to do what they love alongside some of the world’s biggest brands. Dan often says that games have the unmatched power to unite no matter who you are or where you come from. Much of his work has been focused on making the game industry itself a more inclusive and diverse place where all voices are heard. Dan graduated from New York University with a degree in Social Work in 2007. In his previous role at Help For Children, he helped raise millions of dollars for organizations focused on the prevention and treatment of child abuse. His work at Playcrafting has been a dream come true, where he’s been able to make a difference, build community, and grow a startup all by amplifying the power of video games to make a difference in our increasingly virtual world.
